Flippin' Out

Here is another Camp Card. I am totally flippin' out trying to get these cards out to my girls before the mailman arrives and of course I missed him so now I have to run to the post office and hope the cards arrive before camp is over! I failed miserably at creating a quick & easy card in a quick fashion. However, I did manage to make two of the exactly same card, so I am rather proud of myself for that! Experienced some frustrations with this one: I have such a hard time using the Stampin' Up Ink Pads. I don't know if they are too big or too juicy or what, but I always end up getting ink all over. Also, I decided to use a non-VersaMark watermark ink pad and I think I am going to toss it. It doesn't work with embossing powder and I when I tried it to do watermark, you could barely see the ink. Maybe it's dried out, but I think I will stick with VersaMark because it has worked so much better for me. (If you look closely, you can see the sentiments I stamped on the pink panel.) I also learned that Ranger's Multi Medium Matte is the best liquid glue on the planet (thanks to Jennifer McGuire, I bought some and I just LOVE it).

I am entering this card in the following challenges: Freshly Made Sketches #196 and CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #133 Colours

Stamps: TSOL sandals4summer
Ink: Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay
Dies: Stampin' Up Flower Flair, Sizzix Scallop Frame

  1. Fun summery card! So glad you shared it at FMS!

  2. The punny sentiment made me smile - and I'm sure these cards will make your girls smile, too! Thanks for sharing your work with us at CC&S.

  3. Super fun card and a great sentiment. Thanks for sharing at CC&S.

  4. Fun and funny card, love that sentiment, perfect for Summer!! I'm sure your girls will love it.
I too have experienced some troubles with the SU ink pads, they are indeed to wet and, because when you close them the pad is actually up side down, gravity pulls the ink towards the top of the pad. I've read some suggestions about how to fix this problem and what they recommend is to grab a plastic spoon and gently rub it all over the pad, pushing the ink down a bit. Also, when you apply the ink to your stamp, don't push to hard, just gently tap it and stamp it on a piece of scrap paper.
    Anyway, I hope this helps
Thank you for sharing your fun, summer camp card.

    Maria Rodriguez.

  5. Thanks for joining us at CC&S this last week. A fun summery card using Jane's colours. Stef x

  6. This is such a fun card! I'm sure the girls will love them! As for your ink pads...I'm a Stampin' Up! Demo and one thing I find is to take the ink to your stamp, rather than the stamp to the ink. Then gently dab your stamp and you should find you get less inkiness! Hope that helps! :)
Thanks for joining us at CAS-Colours and Sketches this week :)
