Autumn Camping

Entering this in the colour challenge over at Fusion. I love how the camper stamp goes so well with the Happy Campers paper pad...I am sure to be making a whole lot of camping cards for my outdoors-loving family members. The colors from the paper match almost perfectly with the Colour Challenge: Autumn Leaves at Fusion. I also used the sketch. Love all the inspiration I get at Fusion! I had a lot of fun inking up the images from the stamp set and coloring them in. I decided to use the star map for my sky background - wouldn't it be so much easier if all the constellations were so easy to identify irl? To add interest between the two halves of my circle, I cut and copic-colored a small mountain range. My husband & I have plans to buy a camper someday....can't wait to go on some fun outdoor adventures! Thanks for stopping by!

Fusion Seagull Beach Challenge Card #2

Here is my second card for the Fusion Seagull Beach Challenge. I decided to use the extra rectangle that was left over from the gray frame I made for my first card. I stamped a sentiment and background circles from the same TSOL stamp set onto a stitched circle in mint. After adhering all the circles, I added stamped another flower stamp from the set in white in the corner. It was too hard to see, so I stamped it again with blush ink. Happy to have made two cards from this challenge inspiration!

Fusion Seagull Beach Challenge Card #1

I just loved the summery colors chosen for the Seagull Beach Challenge at Fusion! For my entry, I used both the sketch and the color palette to create my card. I struggle with young adult birthday cards but I thought this whimsy flower stamp fit the bill. The colors are perfect for a young lady whose 29th birthday is in late summer. I had fun choosing the inks to match up with the challenge - I think they go so well together! I decided to stencil a few light pink circles for a background, and then I framed the whole panel in gray. Such a fun challenge! I had some extra circles left over, so I made a second card too. TFL!

Fusion Sketch

I had this scrap of beautiful shimmery butterfly paper on my desk and that prompted me to make a thinking of you card for a friend who likes butterflies. I always need help getting started, so I looked to the sketch at Fusion for inspiration. Once I decided on the elements I would use, I quickly cut the label out of the lilac cards stock and added some distress ink to the center to coordinate with butterfly paper. I then realized that the lilac label would be lost agains the lilac background, so I added a layer of darker purple paper. The sentiment is from a stamp set that also had butterfly stamps, so I stamped and cut a few of those and added a couple of light aqua pearls for accents. Thanks for stopping by!

Minty Chocolate Ice Cream Cards

I always have a hard time getting started when it's time to make another birthday card. Thankfully, inspiration was found at Freshly Made Sketches with Sketch #544. Since this was a card for my son, I chose colors that were more masculine. The patterned paper has a chocolatey, minty feel to it...yum! I made the background strip curved, though you can't really see it that well in my first card. I did make a second card with a landscape rather than portrait orientation and the curve is more prominent in there. The sketch worked well for that one, too. Thanks for stopping by!

A Birthday on the Ranch

Made this for my nephew who is a rancher out in Montana. Hope to get out there one day to visit! Adding this to the Fusion Challenge as I was inspired by all the colors in the photo. Love their challenges!

I just picked up these rub-on letters at thrift store and I managed to ruin my first attempt at a sentiment, but this second try came out well enough...I am NOT a fan of rub-ons! I do like how well they coordinate with the Happy Camper paper pad that I use often for my nephew's birthday cards. I added a pop of teal which gave me a reason to use some of my Nuvo drops. Thanks for stopping by!
