Thanks Bunches

Finally had the chance to use last month's stamp set from TSOL. The flowers are so cute with the bright papers! I am trying to be more efficient in my card-making, so I thought I'd make a few duplicates of this card and see how fast dupes would take compared to the original. I did same some time (40 min vs. 60), but my next two cards were not exactly duplicates as I decided to use different colored papers which did not go with white embossing, so I did spend some time re-thinking the color scheme. I like this one the best - the bright colors really pop with the white. TFL!
Supplies:
Stamps: TSOL crazy4daisies
Paper: The Paper Studio
Inks: VersaMark & TH Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean
Other: White Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Fiskars Threading Water Edge Punch

Here are the other two 'dupes'. Added Pink Washi Tape to one and used Dusty Concord Ink on the other. Both used Leaf Embossing Powder as the background is cream, not white.

More Masculine Cards

My first card for today is for my brother's birthday. I have a difficult time doing masculine cards because I never know what to use as a focal point - I hate to say that I need more supplies, but I really think I could use some more stamps for guys. If I can't use flowers or swirls, I get stuck. Luckily, I had some Camping Themed paper, which saved me! I also die cut some leaves for accents.

Supplies:
Paper: Bobunny & Imaginisce
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations: Botanical Floral 2
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, Walnut Stain & Tea Dye
Dies: Heartfelt Creations: Rose Creations Shapeabilities
Other: Sizzix Happy Birthday ef, Ticket Punch

Since I had the supplies out, I made a second card - this one is for my father-in-law for Father's Day. The kids all call him 'Pop', so I grabbed the 'Pop!' stamp from TSOL's popcorn2stamp set and added some glitter. I wanted this card to be simple, but I thought the background needed something, so I just stamped random leaf images on the upper portion of the card. I hope I remember to use this card when the time comes!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Masculine Bday Cards

Today, I am posting birthday cards for two of my nephews. It's always hard to make masculine cards, but using navy and olive colors helped set the tone. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks on both. The first card was made using some photo paper I had lying around, the second one was made with The Good Stuff: Ranger's Speciality Stamping Paper (which is a matte coated cardstock). It was great to work with that special paper!

Supplies:
Paper: 3bugsinarug,
Best Creation Inc. Die Cut
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Other: Fiskars Bubble Edger Punch,
The Paper Studio Number Stickers

Inside of Rock and Roll Card

Supplies:
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Stamps: Hero Arts Brush Strokes,
Imaginisce Live Loud,
Stampabilities Rock Star,
KI Memories Live Large Verbology

Supplies:
Paper: Olive, Navy, Whirlpool cardstock
Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper (matte coated cardstock)
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, and Broken China,
Memento Paris Dusk
Stamps: Hero Arts Brush Strokes
Other: Sizzix Embossing Folder: Happy Birthday,
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eleven,
Teresa Collins Enamel Dots

I popped up the sentiment using American Crafts pop dots. I love the way the distress inks reacted on the Specialty Paper. I even inked up the paint splatter stamp with distress ink, sprayed some water on the stamp, then stamped to get a more watered-down image so as not to overpower the sentiment. I ended up using the Memento Paris Dusk ink on the olive card base, though, because I wanted a bolder look there. And I finally got to use some of those cool enamel dots!
Inside stamped with more Paint Splatters from Hero Arts Brush Strokes as well as a sentiment from Stampabilities. Thanks so much for looking!
