Congrats using SC841

I flipped the sketch and made a horizontal card. Used some single sheets of dp that I bought a gazillion years ago from a Scrapbook Expo when SEI was selling variety packs of their gorgeous 12 x 12 papers. It's always fun to dig out some old supplies - I forget what I have stashed away. Thanks to Splitcoaststampers for the inspiration!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Close to my Heart: Celebration
Dies: Spellbinders: Card Creator A-2 Matting Basics A & B;
Sizzix: Stars #2
Paper: SEI: Various

Halloween FMS457

I set out to make a quick Halloween card using Sketch #457 at Freshly Made Sketches. I knew I was going to make a spooky scene with the haunted house and bats stamps, so I just needed to find a coordinating background paper. The one Halloween 6x6 pad I have turned out to be, well, too cute! The only design in it that almost worked was dark blue with silver stars. That color blue did not match any of my inks, and I didn't think stars would be appropriate. However, that did lead me to another paper pad - Stargazer - which is where I found this cool holographic black and silver paper. Success! I then created my focal panel by using a circle stencil (well, actually it's a circle template I saved from my computer programming days), some distress inks and the two Halloween stamps. I added a sentiment on coordinating orange cs, which I think was the perfect addition to this simple card. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: SEI: Eerie Alley, Hobby Lobby: Spooky Stamps
Inks: Distress: Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Pine Needles; Versafine: Onyx Black, VersaMark
Paper: The Paper Studio: Stargazer, Bristol
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Circles Template

SEI Celebration

Made a quick birthday card using more of the papers from SEI's Couture Collection. Had a leftover strip that I used as the background. Added a punched border strip, then used the same punch to create the background for the sentiment. Die cut two swirls, using the dark grey one as a shadow. Dug out some old Prima flowers, using an SEI brad for the center. Thought I was done, but ended up with a 'spot' from the glue, so had to add a few clear sequins. I think they added a nice touch! TFL!

Supplies Used:
Paper: SEI: Couture
Stamps: Close To My Heart: Celebration
Dies: MFT: Medium Fancy Flourish
Border Punch: EK: Open Scallop
Other: Prima Flowers, SEI Brad, Pretty Pink Posh Sequins: Sparkling Clear

FMS450

Made a few quick cards using SEI's Couture Paper Pad. Fell in love with these papers long ago, so bought both the 12 x 12 and 6 x 6 pads. Still find them perfect for so many different occasions. This one is card to cheer someone who is in the hospital. I made it following Sketch #450 at Freshly Made Sketches. Thanks for looking!

Paper: SEI:Couture
Dies: Spellbinders circles, MFT Stitched Circle Stax, Sizzix: Swirls

FMS394

Made a quick birthday card today using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I had been practicing the multi-layer stamping with these beautiful Altenew stamps/dies using my Misti, so I was able to save a little time because I already had some leaves ready to go. I wanted to add a bit of color to the background, so I unearthed my splatter brush and some water colors and had some fun. Not being a careful crafter, I did end up accidentally splattering several card panels at once, but that just means I am one step ahead for the next card...it's all good! TFL!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Altenew: Peony Bouquet
Inks: Altenew: Shades of Purple and Green Fields
Dies: Altenew: Peony Bouquet and Sunny Studio: Fishtail Banners
Paper: SEI
Other: Watercolors, Tim Holtz: Splatter Brush, MISTI

Swirly Spring Bday

I made these two cards for the MFTWSC280 Sketch Challenge at MFT (and I even used an MFT Die!) but I missed the deadline for entry! UGH!!! Well, the sketch served me well as I was happy with how these cards turned out. I was so sure I was going to make IDENTICAL cards, but, as always, there are differences: The dark purple panel and the inner squares are not the same size (and the squares are different patterned paper), and the sentiment tags are slightly different. The second card also has a perforated line at the top that I added with my Sew Easy tool. I didn't really like how that turned out so I didn't repeat it on the other card. I originally cut out the flowers without stamping them, then decided they needed more pop, so I did something unconventional by carefully placing my die cut on top of the stamp that I had inked with VersaMark. Not an ideal way to emboss, but I got lucky in that it worked just fine. Thanks so much for looking!

Supplies Used:
Paper: SEI Couture
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations Botanical Floral, TSOL happyBday2you (sentiment)
Dies: My Favorite Things Medium Fancy Flourish, Spellbinders Rose Creations, Classic Edges One
Ink: VersaMark
EP: Zing EP in Powder and WOW! EP in Shrinking Violet

First up are two cards I made using pre-made pastel-colored card bases. (Hot Buy at Michael's that I couldn't pass up). I followed the latest Mojo Monday Sketch (448)

and pulled out my favorite Spring paper (SEI Couture).
