Blue Floral Birthdays

I am late again with birthday cards...I seriously need to work ahead, but I always seem to be struggling to finish what needs to be done TODAY let alone work on stuff for TOMORROW. May is one busy month, that is for sure! I usually manage to make a card or two per week, but this week, I made EIGHT. Here are the latest two - for my dear aunts who are both turning 81 this year:

Supplies used:
Paper: SEI
Stamp: TSOL crazy4daisies
Ink: TH Distress Ink: Salty Ocean
Dies: TSOL Swirls, Nestabilities Scalloped Circles, Classic Circles, Scalloped Ovals, Twisted Metal Tags and Accents and CM Ovals
Border Punch: Fiskars Threading Water
Other: Flower, Brad, blue sequin from my stash

Happy Summer Cards

Finally got to use my TSOL stamps: flipflops2stamp. Had the perfect paper to use for this set! First up is a Thank You which follows the SC489 Sketch over at Splitcoaststampers.

Supplies Used:
Paper: TPS
Stamps: TSOL flipflops2stamp & freebie Thank You
Ink: TH Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean
Dies: Spellbinders: Scallop & Classic Circles, Sizzix: Frames, Circle Combo
Other: VersaMark & white embossing powder, Ribbon, Sequins

Next, is a pair of cards all ready to send to my daughters while they are away at camp this summer. (There is much to do to get the girls ready for their week-long stay, but somehow making them at least this one card was the priority at the moment!) These flip flop stamps are so fun! I used my other TSOL stamp sets for the clouds & suns. I did have a bit of a disaster happen though: I'm a very messy stamper and once the creative juices start flowing, I pull out EVERYTHING all AT ONCE - and so I nearly lost one of my clear stamps! I spent nearly an hour going through EVERYTHING but no luck. Then, the next morning, there it was: staring right at me, attached to a laminated card I had propped up on my desk. I need to have a dedicated craft space already. Seriously!!

Supplies Used:
Paper: TPS
Stamps: TSOL flipflops2stamp, crazy4daisies, back2basics, happyBday2you
Ink: TH Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean
Other: CM tearing tool

Polka Dot Thank You

My card for the day:

I entered this in three challenges: First, I was inspired by these colors at the Color Throwdown Blog

The second inspiration was this sketch (SC489) over at SCS:

The third challenge I entered was at Sparkle N Sprinkle. It was fun to use their tip of applying adhesive tape to the top of the paper that you are going to die cut. So easy to simply cut your shape, then remove the backing paper so that you can apply the glitter right on top of your shape!

Supplies Used:
- the Paper Studio's A2 Medium Polka Dots ef
- TSOL crazy4daisies sentiment Stamp and back2basics for the water-marked background
- Spellbinders Circles & Scalloped Circles Dies
- Queen & Co. Green Twine
- Peridot Glitter
- VersaMark & TH Tumbled Glass Distress Inks
- DIY paper button

More Stencilling

I just love stenciling with distress inks! I made this card to enter into the IC441 Challenge at SCS. The inspiration photo I used was this collection of candle holders.  I also tried the DIY enamel dots again, this time with more success. I also kind of created a tricky situation in adhering the twine behind the sentiment - but the three panels behind were adhered right to the card front, so I had to glue the twine to the back of the end panels while also adhering the panels themselves. I made a second card and ditched the twine. For all the effort, it didn't really add much to the card anyway. Live and learn...
TFL!

Closer look at the DIY enamel dots
Second, smaller card without twine

Supplies Used:
TH Latticework Stencil
TH Distress Inks in Barn Door, Mowed Lawn & Mustard Seed
Die: Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags & Accents
Queen & Co. Green Twine
Stamp: TPC

Tulips for Mother's Day

Posting another card I made with the gorgeous Tulips from Power Poppy. I made this card for Splitcoast Stampers' Sketch Challenge SC487 from last week. Hope to post more promptly in the future! The card I made for my mother-in-law:
Supplies:
Stamps: Power Poppy's Tulips Digital Stamp Set
Dies: Spellbinders Classic & Scalloped Circles, Twisted Metal Tags & Accents
Paper: Ki Color Crush 6x6 Pad
Coloring: Copics
Faux Enamel Dots: Paper & Clear Embossing Powder
Other: cb ef: Swiss Dots, Letter Stickers. Signo White Gel Pen

This card was CASE'd from this beautiful inspiration by cathymac:
http://images.splitcoaststampers.com/data/gallery/500/2014/05/06/Treasured_2_by_cathymac.jpg?ts=1399434306

The image ended up to be too big to fit inside my circle, so I attempted to do the 'Out of the Box with Nestabilities' technique but I accidentally cut too far, so I just cut the whole flower out & adhered to a complete circle. Going to have to try that technique again, though...stay tuned!

One thing I did try out was to make my own 'faux enamel dots'. I spend hours learning new things to try and I almost never get around to actually DOING them. This was a little tricky, but I'm definitely going to try it again. You use paper circles so your embellishments match your project perfectly. Digital Tulips

I fell in love with the designs over at Power Poppy and was so impressed that I just to had to have one of their new digi stamps. I've been looking for more flowers to color with my beloved Copics, and now my only dilemma is that I want all of their stamps! I am adding this card to their Challenge (PPWORLD1) so maybe I will be the lucky winner of one of their stamp sets. TFL!
