Ice Cream Ribbons

I set out to make a summery bday card so I pulled out MFT's Your'e the Sweetest Stamps & Dies. When I saw their latest Sketch Challenge, I just had to dig out these ice-cream colored ribbons - don't they just go so perfectly with the mint ice cream theme? I know I've made several of these types of cards in the past, but it was fun to be able to use all five of the ribbons, thanks to the inspirational sketch.

The scalloped circle is popped up with a foam circle behind it, and the ice cream cone is popped up with foam adhesive squares for added dimension. I purposely adhered the ice cream scoops in a haphazard way to add interest. Finished off the background with a few creamy pink enamel dots. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Two Scoops

Another Ice Cream card...this time for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches (FMS383). I have so much matching ribbon that I decided to use it for the top of this card. I am having a hard time cutting ribbon without it fraying - I miss the Ribbon Cutter I used to have that melted the ribbon to 'seal' it as it cut (it broke). (It was that one from Imaginesce - when it did work, it did a nice job.)  So I usually wrap the ribbon around cs to hide the frayed ends, but I didn't have a backing piece for this card, so I wrapped the ribbon around a separate piece of cs, then just adhered that to the card front. (Yay! No frayed edges to be seen!)

While all those creamy papers were out, I made another simple card. I absolutely love those Stamps & Dies. TFL!

Don't Flip Out Card

Hoping to bring some reassurance to my youngest camper. Soon after we dropped her and her sister off at camp, a tornado watch was issued for the area. Luckily the storms passed without a tornado developing, but more storms are in the forecast. Maybe I should send this card to myself to remind ME not to flip out!! I'm entering this card in the Cas(e) this sketch #179 Challenge. TFL!

Enjoy Camp Card

Well it's that time again - time to make thinking-of-you-while-you-are-at-camp cards which need to be sent asap so that they arrive before the camper returns home.  I picked up this delightful paper pad on clearance; should have purchased two. I just love the bright color combos. Hope they send some cheer my girl's way as the weather looks pretty rainy the whole week at Camp O. I entered this in the MOJO 455 Challenge. TFL!

Father's Day Card

Inside:

Still trying to get back in the swing of things after having been away on vacation, so I guess I have a good excuse for waiting until the last minute to make my father-in-law a card for tomorrow. Hoping I will still be able to manage to make one for my dear hubby, too, but I'm sure I won't get around to posting that one by tomorrow!

I made this one for Sketch Challenge SC597 over at Splitcoast. Thanks for the inspiration, it helped a lot! Masculine cards are the hardest for me, and while I just bought a new Baseball Stamp Set, my father-in-law and hubby are not sports-minded guys. I have a ton of Camping dp, but I've made them so many camping-themed cards I had to try for something different. Luckily I had this stamp set from TSOL which has both great images and sentiments. Whew!
TFL!

Sweet Hello

I just love this paper pad from Prima called Hello Pastel. The colors are just so sweet! I'm happy that I utilized several little scraps in this card - it almost justifies me saving all those tiny pieces...I have such a hard time getting rid of anything! This card was quick & easy to make (no stamping!) but it did take me like forever to choose all the details. I had a second card base out so that I could make two cards at once, but I somehow forgot all about it....sigh. I must work on my efficiency!! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Paper: Prima's Hello Pastel
Other: Matching Journaling Stickers
Candy Dots By Recollecions

Camping-Themed Cards

I loved this week's Sketch Challenge at SCS. I brought out the Camping Papers I bought at last year's Scrapbook Expo and set to work. I ended up making a total of six cards - I think that is a record for me. But try as I might to make exact duplicates, I just cannot! There are just slight differences, but these are those last-minute decisions that end up adding minutes to each card. Oh well, they were fun to make and I loved this sketch so much I am sure I will be using it again & again. TFL!

I flipped the sketch and added a sticker and some candy buttons.

For the inside, I used my sprig & dots stamps from Stamps By Judith, along with a sentiment stamp from Paper Inspirations.

For this next card, I had to use a smaller oval to cut out the picture, so I added another set of ovals behind the small ones. Also replaced the sticker with more candy buttons.

These two are going to be sent to my daughters while they are away at camp, so I added the scallops for a more feminine touch.

It's so hard to do masculine cards, but this sketch worked so well with these papers that I knew I could get more use out of more of these types of cards. I think I will use them for birthday cards for my nephews - but I didn't add the sentiments yet in case I end up using them for something else!

Supplies for all the cards:
Paper: Bella Blvd, Kraft, olive cs
Dies: Creative Memories Ovals, Nestabilities Scalloped Circles
Other: Fiskars Edger Punch: Threading Water, Jolee's Stickers, basic grey candy buttons, sequins

Blue Floral Birthdays

I am late again with birthday cards...I seriously need to work ahead, but I always seem to be struggling to finish what needs to be done TODAY let alone work on stuff for TOMORROW. May is one busy month, that is for sure! I usually manage to make a card or two per week, but this week, I made EIGHT. Here are the latest two - for my dear aunts who are both turning 81 this year:

Happy Summer Cards

Finally got to use my TSOL stamps: flipflops2stamp. Had the perfect paper to use for this set! First up is a Thank You which follows the SC489 Sketch over at Splitcoaststampers.

Supplies Used:
Paper: TPS
Stamps: TSOL flipflops2stamp & freebie Thank You
Ink: TH Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean
Dies: Spellbinders: Scallop & Classic Circles, Sizzix: Frames, Circle Combo
Other: VersaMark & white embossing powder, Ribbon, Sequins

Next, is a pair of cards all ready to send to my daughters while they are away at camp this summer. (There is much to do to get the girls ready for their week-long stay, but somehow making them at least this one card was the priority at the moment!) These flip flop stamps are so fun! I used my other TSOL stamp sets for the clouds & suns. I did have a bit of a disaster happen though: I'm a very messy stamper and once the creative juices start flowing, I pull out EVERYTHING all AT ONCE - and so I nearly lost one of my clear stamps! I spent nearly an hour going through EVERYTHING but no luck. Then, the next morning, there it was: staring right at me, attached to a laminated card I had propped up on my desk. I need to have a dedicated craft space already. Seriously!!

Supplies Used:
Paper: TPS
Stamps: TSOL flipflops2stamp, crazy4daisies, back2basics, happyBday2you
Ink: TH Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean
Other: CM tearing tool

Tulips for Mother's Day

Posting another card I made with the gorgeous Tulips from Power Poppy. I made this card for Splitcoast Stampers' Sketch Challenge SC487 from last week. Hope to post more promptly in the future! The card I made for my mother-in-law:
Supplies:
Stamps: Power Poppy's Tulips Digital Stamp Set
Dies: Spellbinders Classic & Scalloped Circles, Twisted Metal Tags & Accents
Paper: Ki Color Crush 6x6 Pad
Coloring: Copics
Faux Enamel Dots: Paper & Clear Embossing Powder
Other: cb ef: Swiss Dots, Letter Stickers. Signo White Gel Pen

This card was CASE'd from this beautiful inspiration by cathymac:
http://images.splitcoaststampers.com/data/gallery/500/2014/05/06/Treasured_2_by_cathymac.jpg?ts=1399434306

The image ended up to be too big to fit inside my circle, so I attempted to do the 'Out of the Box with Nestabilities' technique but I accidentally cut too far, so I just cut the whole flower out & adhered to a complete circle. Going to have to try that technique again, though...stay tuned!

One thing I did try out was to make my own 'faux enamel dots'. I spend hours learning new things to try and I almost never get around to actually DOING them. This was a little tricky, but I'm definitely going to try it again. You use paper circles so your embellishments match your project perfectly.
