Lacey Azaleas

Made another Azalea card, this time in blue. Adding it to the SC741 Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The lacey circle was a challenge to create as the die was for only a half circle. It ended up being so large that it covered the whole front panel! The solid background was also die cut using only a half circle outline die. I somehow managed to line them both up quite evenly...whew! I colored the Azaleas with copics, then fussy-cut them. I usually use a die to cut out my colored images which leaves a lot of white space, but since I wanted to show more of the lace, I decided to cut them out. I made this for my mil's 85th birthday - I hope she likes it! TFL!

Father's Day Card

Inside:

Still trying to get back in the swing of things after having been away on vacation, so I guess I have a good excuse for waiting until the last minute to make my father-in-law a card for tomorrow. Hoping I will still be able to manage to make one for my dear hubby, too, but I'm sure I won't get around to posting that one by tomorrow!

I made this one for Sketch Challenge SC597 over at Splitcoast. Thanks for the inspiration, it helped a lot! Masculine cards are the hardest for me, and while I just bought a new Baseball Stamp Set, my father-in-law and hubby are not sports-minded guys. I have a ton of Camping dp, but I've made them so many camping-themed cards I had to try for something different. Luckily I had this stamp set from TSOL which has both great images and sentiments. Whew!
TFL!

Embossed Flourishes

Created this lovely panel using the detailed Texture Flourish stencil from memory box. I stamped VersaMark over the stencil, sprinkled it with clear embossing powder, heat embossed it and sponged distress inks over the panel. I love the look of the finished panel! I added some flourishes, flowers and a button to complete the card.  I used TSOL's swirl stamps and a sentiment stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs to decorate the inside of the card. TFL!

Blue Grad Card

Love the new Dreamweaver stencil I picked up the other day. I don't have much experience with stencils yet, but I did learn that there is an enormous difference when you use the right paper with distress inks. The Ranger Speciality stamping paper (matte coated cardstock) allows the colors to glide over the paper so beautifully. Definitely going to have to stock up on that paper!

Supplies Used:
Paper: Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper, teresa collins Everyday Moments
Dies: Spellbinders Sentiments One, A2 Curved Borders One, Labels One & Circles, Sizzix Stars
Stamp: Northwoods

Hot Air Balloon Card

I'm happy that I got to create another card for Summer School! I am entering this one in MFT's Focal Point Challenge. It is also another father's day card, so I am entering it into the Challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such, too. I was inspired by the beautiful card created by cards4joy, which I have posted below.
Thanks for looking!

February Cards

February is a busy month, card-wise. My 'baby' turned 10 (double digits!!), a dear aunt turned 88, plus I made thank-you's for my daughter's birthday and a bunch of cards for a women's retreat at my church. I am a little frustrated at myself for not being able to post more often, but I'm going to settle for being happy that at least I was able to make so many cards. TFL
This Popcorn card was perfect for my daughter as she was so excited to be turning 10! Stamps: TSOL popcorn2stamp, paper: Bella Blvd birthday Girl.

This card shows how elegant a card can be just by using Spellbinders Layered Elegant Swirl Die. Also used these other Spellbinders Dies: Fancy Tags Two, and Twisted Metal Tags and Accents. The butterfly is an IO Die. I also used a ticket punch and an EK border punch. Paper by Teresa Collins (Tell Your Story).

And here are some of the thank you cards and retreat cards:
All stamps are from TSOL, except for the little swirls in the corner - Hampton Art.

The stamps for the above cards are Our Daily Bread Design's Light of the World and the Swirl Stamp is from TSOL. I tried to make all the cards the same, but I guess that is never going to happen! TFL!
